Reservations: Bookings can be made online via the booking form on our website, by phone, or by email.
Deposit: To secure a reservation, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total amount is required once booking details are agreed upon. This deposit confirms our contractual commitment.
Payment Method: For remote bookings, we accept bank transfers. Please state your name or email address in the transfer description to facilitate identification.
Confirmation: By paying the deposit, the client accepts these Terms and Conditions. Once the funds are cleared in our account, we will send a confirmation email and the respective invoice.
Group Size: Our standard groups accommodate up to 7 participants, although larger groups can be transported in our larger capacity vans.
Age: The primary booker must be 18 years or older. Participants under 18 require authorization from parents or legal guardians to participate in tours or rent equipment.
Invoicing: If individual invoices are required for each group member, full names and tax details must be provided at the time of booking.
Travel: We strongly advise against incurring non-refundable travel expenses (e.g., flights) before your booking with us is confirmed.
Bike Storage: We do not have space to store client bicycles in our shop.
2. PAYMENTS AND CANCELLATION POLICY
Balance Payment: The remaining balance must be paid in full before the start of the first tour or rental, in cash or via bank transfer. Failure to pay may result in tour cancellation without a deposit refund.
Cancellation by Client: All cancellations must be communicated via email.
If cancelled 1 month before the activity, 100% will be refunded.
If cancelled between 1 month and 96 hours before, 50% will be refunded.
Weather Rescheduling: Rescheduling to a viable date is possible up to 48 hours before the event, solely due to weather alert conditions.
Less than 96 Hours: No refund will be granted if cancelled within the last 96 hours.
Equipment Rental: Requires full payment in advance. 100% refundable if cancelled by email up to 30 days before. After this period, rental fees are non-refundable.
Transfer of Credits: Credits from cancellations may be transferred to other persons provided you inform us by email regarding who will receive the credit, citing your booking number.
Payment Methods: We accept cash or bank transfers. Sending proof of transfer is mandatory.
3. CANCELLATIONS BY US
Changes: While we strive to follow the schedule, we reserve the right to alter itineraries due to weather conditions, forestry work, or other safety factors.
Force Majeure: If we are forced to cancel a trip due to events outside our control (e.g., bad or alert weather), you will be offered an alternative date. We are not liable for external expenses (such as travel or accommodation) incurred by the client.
4. ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND SAFETY
Nature of Activity: Mountain biking involves inherent risks. By booking, you accept that accidents can occur and assume personal responsibility for your actions and safety.
Liability: Get-a-Ride Madeira accepts no responsibility for injury, death, or damage caused to you or by you during the activity.
Fitness & Equipment: You must ride within your skill level and always wear approved safety gear (helmet, knee/elbow pads). You confirm you are physically fit to participate and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions.
5. EQUIPMENT RENTAL AGREEMENT
Responsibility: The client is fully responsible for the bicycle while it is in their possession.
Security Deposit: A security deposit is required for rentals (non-guided): €100 - €150 per bike.
Damages (Tours): If you damage a rental bike during a tour (e.g., crashes), you are responsible for repair costs.
Damages (Rental Only): You agree to pay for all damages caused. If repair costs exceed the deposit, you must pay the difference.
Theft: If the bicycle is stolen while in your care, you must reimburse Get-a-Ride Madeira for the full replacement value of the bicycle and accessories.
Check: Clients must inspect the bicycle at the shop before leaving.
6. INSURANCE AND LIABILITY WAIVER
Personal Insurance: We strongly advise clients to take out adequate travel/sports insurance.
Waiver: By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks. You expressly release Get-a-Ride Madeira, its owners, guides, and employees from any liability, claims, or debts arising from your participation. This agreement covers the client and any minors in their care.
7. MISCELLANEOUS
We reserve the right to update these terms at any time. It is the client's responsibility to stay informed.
